10" Australian Tree Fern

Australian Tree Fern (Sphaeropteris cooperi) is prized for finely textured fronds that soften an indoor arrangement. Common names for this plant group include Australian Tree Fern, Cyathea cooperi.

• Light Needs: Bright, indirect light. Protect from intense afternoon sun; rotate the pot occasionally for balanced growth.

• Difficulty Level: Intermediate. Regular moisture checks help protect delicate fronds from drying out.

• Pet Safety: Non (non-toxic to cats and dogs; no known toxic principle). Eating plant material may still cause stomach upset, so discourage chewing.

• Watering Needs: Water as the surface of the potting mix begins to dry, keeping the root ball lightly moist. Drain fully and never leave it saturated or completely dried out.

• Soil Preference: Use a loose fern mix with coco coir or peat, fine pine bark, and pumice. Retain gentle moisture without compressing the roots.

Australian Tree Fern adds distinctive botanical character to a thoughtfully placed plant collection. Match its light and watering needs to your space to enjoy its growth and ornamental appeal over time.
