Light Needs: Bright light, including gentle morning sun after acclimation. Avoid sudden changes of position or exposure.
Difficulty Level: Intermediate. Consistent light and watering help prevent stress-related leaf drop.
Pet Safety: Moderate. Irritating latex containing ficin and related compounds can cause mouth and digestive irritation; sap may also irritate skin. Keep away from cats and dogs.
Watering Needs: Water thoroughly when the upper 1-2 inches of mix feel dry. Let excess water drain and empty the saucer; reduce frequency when growth slows.
Soil Preference: Use a well-draining indoor potting mix with pumice and fine pine bark. Coco coir or peat retains moderate moisture without leaving roots saturated.
