Anthurium Hookerii - Bird Nest (Anthurium hookeri) is prized for distinctive tropical foliage that adds texture and a collected look to an indoor display. Common names for this plant group include Anthurium.
Light Needs: Bright, indirect light. Protect from intense afternoon sun; rotate the pot occasionally for balanced growth.
Difficulty Level: Intermediate. Provide steady warmth, filtered light, and a freely draining root zone.
Pet Safety: Moderate. Insoluble calcium oxalate crystals can cause painful mouth irritation, drooling, vomiting, and difficulty swallowing in cats and dogs. Keep away from pets that chew plants.
Watering Needs: Water when the top inch of mix begins to dry. Soak evenly, drain completely, and avoid prolonged saturation or allowing the entire root ball to become bone dry.
Soil Preference: Use an airy aroid mix with coco coir or peat, pine bark, and pumice. Retain some moisture while allowing excess water to escape; avoid dense, compacted soil.
Anthurium Hookerii - Bird Nest adds distinctive botanical character to a thoughtfully placed plant collection. Match its light and watering needs to your space to enjoy its growth and ornamental appeal over time.
